ABOUT SELLAND FAMILY RESTAURANTS
Selland Family Restaurants (SFR) is a local, family-run group of farm-to-fork focused restaurants. The group includes venerable local institution The Kitchen Restaurant, downtown Sacramento hot spot Ella Dining Room and Bar, three Selland's Market-Café locations, as well as OBO' Italian. Server Position Summary:

A Server is responsible for maintaining customer service according to Restaurant standards while receiving guests, delivering food, cleaning and maintaining the restaurant. This position has the knowledge of and maintains sanitary food handling practices. The Server interacts with customers in a positive manner by assisting them promptly, and approaching them in a hospitable, friendly way.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Ensures that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a customer-friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer in a positive manner, solid menu and product knowledge, and all other components of the restaurant’s customer service standards in order to take care of a customer’s needs.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the highest level of service and hospitality according to Restaurant standards
  • Maintains an awareness of food and product information, promotions, special offers and advertisements
  • Knowledge of the cocktails and all wines by the glass
  • Knowledge of and maintaining sanitary food handling practices and restaurant cleanliness before, during, and after shift
  • Communicates guest requests to co-workers and/or management in a prompt, efficient manner
  • Assists in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and restaurant housekeeping
  • Assists in processing and replenishing food and merchandise; participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock; ensures re-wraps are done promptly
  • Accurately and efficiently completes all sales transactions and maintains proper cash accountabilities
  • Cooperates and interacts with colleagues in a positive, respectful manner and with a team approach, offering to assist as needed in order to ensure customer service
  • Reports to work on time and as assigned per the schedule on a regular, consistent basis
  • Any other duties as assigned by management
  • A valid California Food Handler Card is required
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • A minimum of one year of previous fine dining serving experience
  • Must have a courteous, friendly and professional demeanor
  • Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the restaurant generally weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and carry food and beverage trays for prolonged periods of time
  • Staff must have the ability to process information/merchandise through computer system and POS register system
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and guests in person and on the phone
  • Ability to write and count to accurately complete transactions and all required documentation
  • Ability to walk on uneven ground, including mats and steps, freely accessing all areas of the restaurant including the restaurant floor, stock/prep areas, and the kitchen
  • Ability to operate and use restaurant equipment and appliances necessary to the service of the guest
  • Ability to be exposed to extremes in water temperature, humidity and moisture
  • Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates
